Zoe Evelyn Whittaker, 16, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023. Zoe was born in Nashville, Tennessee on September 15, 2006.
Zoe was free- spirited and strong- willed. She loved hiking, swimming, camping, travelling (especially to Pigeon Forge and the Tennessee Safari Park). Zoe loved taking pictures and dreamt of being a photographer. She was going to begin her Junior year at Station Camp High School this Fall; she was a former member of DECA and the swim team at the YMCA. But most importantly, she loved her family, “debating” with her brother and riding around in his car and doing donuts in the Gallatin High School parking lot. Her love and spirit will be dearly missed.
Zoe is survived by her brother Alijah Cook, sister Audrey Cook, grandmother Jackie Harris, great-grandparents Linda and Don Davis, and biological mom Joni Stillwell. She is also survived by great aunts Arlene (Pete) Gomez and Magdalene Nolan; great uncles Herman (Kitty) Creel, and Caldwell (Betty) Creel; uncle Joseph (Tracy) Ellis, aunts Mandy (Joey) Litchford, and Eva (Thomas) Carnal; along with close cousins Lynn (Eric) Snyder, and Morgan Gomez. In addition, she is survived by a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on July 8, 2023, from 2pm to 3pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3pm in the Chapel at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Zoe’s name to a charity of your choice. Zoe’s causes were Animal Rescue, Mental Health Awareness, and Equality, Diversity, and inclusion for all everyone.
