Zak Lee, age 22 of Hendersonville, passed away February 26, 2017. He was known to his family and friends as a loving and free spirited young man with a tender heart and gentle nature. His parents, Nannie and others in his family were the most influential in Zak's life. He loved vacationing at the beach and holiday gatherings which were very special times, drawing the ones he loved so much closer together in celebration. One of Zak's favorite hobbies was bowling, as he twice bowled a 300 and went to the State Bowling Tournament with BHS. He could also be found playing a game of basketball or a round of Hillbilly Golf, X-Box, and Pokemon Go. Zak also had a love of music listening to "So Long" (Guster), "Rose Golden", (Kid Cudi), and "Wish You Were Here" (Incubus). His free spirited side led him to enjoy beautiful sunny days, especially at the beach, and warm starry nights where he could search the stars.
Zak Lee was preceded in death by his grandparents, Betsy Lee and Billy Etheridge; great-grandparents, Rogers and Frances Kell.
Zak is survived by his parents, Tommy and Amy Lee; grandparents, Buddy Lee and Carl & Bettie Kell; aunts and uncles, Carla Kell, Barbara Fernandez (Derick), Tricia Orme (Justin), Phillip Lee (Susan), Lisa Martin, and John Lee (Rachel); cousins, Dustin & Kolby Carpenter, Jeffrey Fernandez, Nicholas Lee, Noah Lee, Abbey Lee, Amanda Martin, Rachel Lee, Levi Donoho, Stephen Donoho, and Dylan Donoho, Ava, and Lottie Banks Carpenter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 2pm-8pm and Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 12pm-2pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home. A life celebration service will be held on Thursday at 2pm at the funeral home with interment to follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
