Survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Bledsoe and three children, Dave Ginger, Lee Ann and Keith Karen and four grandchildren, Will, Mikey, Lexi and Bryce . Also survived by sisters Virgie Robert Sullivan, Jean Wayne Hardy, Nelda Raines, Sue James Thompson and brother George Betty Lou Lannom. Preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Sophie Lannom. W.D. Lannom was an active member of the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church, where he served on many administrative and finance committees. In 1953 he graduated from Lebanon High School. He is a graduate of Martin Methodist College, as a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and of Tennessee Tech University as a member of Sigma Iota Epsilon. He worked for thirty-three years for IBM Corporation. He served as a leader in Boy Scout Troop 75 for many years and was Past President of the East Nashville chapter of Lions International. He served his country by serving in the US Army, Third Armored Division in Germany. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in W.D.'s name to the Ann & WD Lannom Scholarship Fund at Martin Methodist College, Vanderbilt Parkinson's Disease Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center or Hendersonville First United Methodist Church. . A Life Celebration service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 1 p.m. with visitation being held prior beginning at 12 p.m. at the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. at HENDERSONVILLE FUNERAL HOME 353 Johnny Cash Pkwy Hendersonville, TN 37075 615 824-3855.
