Mrs. Wilma Walker Deering, age 90 of Hendersonville, TN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.

Mrs. Deering was born in Tompkinsville, KY, on February 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Kenneth Yokley and Dossie Proffitt Yokley. Prior to obtaining her masters degree from MTSU in education Mrs. Deering owned and operated her own salon in Gallatin, TN. After selling that successful business she began a new career, spanning the next thirty years, teaching cosmetology. In addition to her parents, standing at the gates for her arrival will be her husband, H.N. Walker; a brother Wendell Yokley; a son in law, Billy Joe Estes; and a grandson, Tyler Shelby.

Survivors include her three daughters, Sondra K. (Lance) Benedict, Donna Estes, and Brenda (Phil) Shelby; seven grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren as well as her brother, James (Bobbie) Yokley. Wilma is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and a host of longtime friends. As a member of the Creekview Church of Christ she loved spending time with her church family and had a gentle and loving heart for all.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019, from 8:30-10 A.M., followed by a grave side service on the grounds of Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Dr. Ronald R. Felts officiating.

Active pallbearers will be: Lance Benedict, Brandon Tate, Drew Shelby, Joey Estes, Justin Estes, and Josh Estes.
