Hunter, Willie Ray of Hendersonville, TN passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the age of 86.
He was preceded in death by parents Charlie Kirk Hunter and Gladys Simpson Hunter of Haydenburg, TN in Jackson County, half-sister Jewel Hunter Ross of Tompkinsville, KY, brother Douglas Edward Hunter and Buford Charles Hunter, brother-in-law Bradley C. Huffines.
He is Survived by wife of 67 years, Willa Dean Hunter, five sons; Roggie L. (Michelle) Hunter of North Pole, AK, Jimmy D. (Karen) Hunter of Gallatin, TN, David F. (Carolyn) Hunter of Hendersonville, TN Darrell R. Hunter of Hendersonville, TN, and Robin C. (Darla) Hunter of Desoto, TX, five granddaughters, six grandsons, ten great-granddaughters, seven great-grandsons, one great great-granddaughter, two sister-in-laws; Dorothy Hunter and Pauline Huffines and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hunter was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church in White House, TN, a member of the Men's Club and trustee of the church. Mr. Hunter retired from Ferro Corp. in 1991 after eighteen years of service.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, March 3rd, at 11am with Rev. Morris Watson officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, March 2nd from 2-8pm then again on Tuesday from 10-11am at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Concord Missionary Baptist Church.
