Bill was relieved of his earthly sufferings and embraced in the arms of the Lord on July 30, 2016 at the age of 70.
Though we may temporarily be separated from Bill, he will live on forever in our memories as the loving, devoted, talented, creative, and humorous man. He was husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a dear friend who will certainly be deeply missed by all. A true observer, Bill thought before he spoke, his words were chosen wisely and his responses were genuine. Family was a top priority and each opportunity to spend time with his loved ones was cherished. Family dinners and gathering to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas together were events which brought Bill tremendous joy. Aside from his closeness to family and friends, Bill enjoyed several hobbies and was a multitalented individual.
Bill was a truly talented photographer who would capture some of life's most precious moments which so often times pass in an instant. His giftedness in photography actually earned him the Master of Photography from the Professional Photographers of America back in 1991. He was an active member of the International Professional Photographers Guild and the owner and operator of Myers Portrait Gallery of Hendersonville, TN. Music was another of Bill's passions, and he had an eclectic taste for most all genres. In fact, songwriting was another talent with which he had been blessed. The well of creativity always ran deep for him, he was an inspiration.
While taking time away from his many talents and work, Bill enjoyed travelling, movies, and Philadelphia Phillies baseball. Experiencing different surroundings and cultures was always the goal when travelling, and domestic destinations included San Francisco and Philadelphia, of course. Destinations abroad included Scandinavia and Séo Paulo, Brazil. Brazil was a place where return trips were somewhat frequent since it was home to adopted daughter, Chris. Bill was a diehard Phillies fanatic and collected various memorabilia of "his" team. Bill certainly knew how to have a good time and make others burst into laughter with his phenomenal sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dorothy Myers. Bill leaves behind his loving wife of fifty years, Nancy Myers; daughters, Sue Ann "Sammy" (Greg) Edmonds, Jennifer (Randy) Myers Hoffman; adopted daughter, Chris Teixeira; grandchildren, Brittani Zachry, Tyler Edmonds, Elizabeth Edmonds, Emma Hoffman, Calo Hoffman, Colin Hoffman; three great-granddaughters; siblings, Carol (Tom) Miller, Royal (Kay) Myers, Mara Moncrief, John Myers; several nieces and nephews; close friends of forty years and practically family, Ed and Sharon Wilson; and treasured friends, Bruce and Jane Pershke, Lee and Cathy Maidenberg. He is also survived by all his fellow members of the Hendersonville Rotary Club.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 3 from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Bill's Life at 2:30 p.m. All will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 37075 hendersonvillefh.com 615-824-3855
