William Fly

William Horris Fly, age 83, of Gallatin, TN. passed away Sunday, July 17,2022 in Nashville, TN. Horris was born in Maury County, TN and was the son of the late George and Elizabeth Jones Fly.

Horris is survived by his wife of 64 years Lynn Bankston Fly; nieces Alisa Williams, Christina Schneider, Sherry Fary, Lee Anne Carnell, Sandra Cox, Karen Russell, and Patty Hernandez; nephew Tony Bankston.

A service to celebrate Horris’s life will be held at 12pm on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Reverend Larry Floyd will be officiating.  A visitation will be held two hours prior to the start of the service from 10am-12pm at the funeral home.

Horris was employed by the Kroger Corporation for 10 years before becoming a Federal Postal Worker, where he worked until his retirement in 1999. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, where he served in many capacities. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research or Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
