William E. Downey, Jr. of Gallatin, TN passed away Tuesday July 25, 2017. Bill is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of more than 63 years Harriet, sons Doug (Linda) of Springfield, TN, Todd (Amy) of Mason, OH, grandchildren Amanda of Pittsburg, PA, Tyler of Mason, OH and Jake (Brittani) of Hendersonville, TN and brother Jim (Bessie) of Carey, NC.

Bill was born November 29, 1933 in Rosewood, OH to Earl and Mary (Stabler) Downey. He graduated from Groveport High School in 1951 and from Otterbein College in 1956. On November 21st 1953 he married the former Harriet Ann Snyder. Bill was employed for his entire career by Occidental Petroleum.
Visitation will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, TN on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 9am to 11am with the service immediately following.
