William "Bill" Andrew Monroe

William “Bill” Andrew Monroe, 81, of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024, at Sumner Regional Hospital.  Bill was born in Crew, Virginia.

After Bill graduated from Petersburg High School, he served 4 years in the U.S. Coast Guard.  He enjoyed his career as a salesman.  Bill loved to talk about cars and sports.  He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and rarely missed watching them play.  Bill enjoyed playing golf and taking boat rides on Old Hickory with the family and was known for his delicious wings.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy; children Scott Monroe and Jennifer (Nick) Duke; grandchildren Catalina and Emmie; brother Mackie and many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Hortense Monroe and sister Mary Love.

Friends are welcome to pay their respects between 1pm and 4pm at Jennifer and Nicks home on Saturday March 2, 2024.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
