He was a teacher at St. Mary's High School in Jersey City, coaching state champions in football and baseball while there. He spent the majority of his years working in industry.

Walter spent is childhood in Jersey City NJ, and shared his married life with Jeanette in Elizabeth NJ, then Edison NJ. He moved west to Monticello KY to be with his son and daughter in law whom he loved as much as his son. His final residence in Goodlettsville TN was to be close to his only granddaughter.

He greatest love was his wife. In his later years, the love of his granddaughter sustained him and gave him strength.
He was most proud of the laughs he could give others, and in truth died just minutes after telling a joke to his nurse.
His son, it is certain, will miss him most.
