Age 81 of Hendersonville, TN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 23, 2015.
When recalling memories of Virginia, her love of the Christmas Holiday and all of the joy this time of year holds immediately comes to mind. The family has been blessed to know that the Lord saw fit to bring her home during this special time. She was a woman of great faith and a long-time member of The Shackle Island Church of Christ. Virginia will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Deliah Brooks; her husband of 47 years, Jimmie Doss; son, Ronald Doss; brother, Fred Brooks.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Sharon Doss of Nashville, TN; brother, Bill Brooks and his wife Cathy of Lafayette, TN; sister-in-law, Sylvia Brooks of Hendersonville, TN; several nieces and nephews; and many treasured extended family members and cherished friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations may be made in Virginia's honor to Underwood Cemetery for its continued care and beautification. Please make checks payable to Underwood Cemetery and mail them to Underwood Cemetery c/o Priscilla Taylor 1989 Antioch Road, Lafayette, TN 37083.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, December 27 from 2 p.m.-3 p.m. with a Celebration of Virginia's Life at 3 p.m. At the conclusion of the Life Celebration, visitation will resume until 6 p.m. All will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 615-824-3855 hendersonvillefh.com. On Tuesday, December 29 there will be a brief Graveside Service beginning at 1 p.m. at Underwood Cemetery in Lafayette, TN.
