Vickie Lynn Wilson, age 61, went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2019. She was born May 25, 1958 in Fort Smith Arkansas to Robert and Glenda McGowan.

Vickie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Donald Wilson. She was a loving and devoted mother to Amanda (Jeremy) Coones of Huntsville AL, Robert Wilson (fiancée Aasha Sriram) of Orlando FL, and William (Elizabeth) Wilson of Blacksburg VA; grandmother to Coraline, Willow, and Violet Coones. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Jennifer Neely.

Vickie graduated from Overton High School in 1976 and David Lipscomb College in 1980. She was an active member of both Madison and Nashville Rd. Church of Christ teaching Sunday school classes and volunteering with the Meals on Wheels program at Madison that brings meals to senior citizens. She was a passionate and dedicated teacher at Creator's Kid's Preschool from 1999 to 2008. Vickie loved travel, the beach, and especially the stoic beauty of lighthouses. She had a great appreciation of classic country artists including Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn. Classic films and true crime stories were some of her favorites and she never failed to share her joy for life with those who knew her.

Visitation will be at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6th, from 4pm -8pm and Friday, June 7th, from 10am-11am, with service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charities or to St. Jude Children's Hospital in her name.
