Mr. Thomas Christopher Bennett age 52, of Hendersonville, TN passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020. Mr. Bennett was born in Ann Arbor, MI, on December 24, 1968, the son of Mary Charbonneau Bennett and Melvin Thomas Bennett. He grew up in Chelsea, MI, and received a degree in electronic engineering at ITT Technical Institute in Fort Wayne, IN. Thomas also enjoyed a rewarding career as an electronic and software technician which included world-wide work with pharmacologists and infectious disease scientists to develop life-saving drugs and vaccines.
Thomas loved spending time with his family and friends. Thomas made many friends, lifted many spirits, and was a joy to be with. He always acted with humility and positivity in all challenging situations. Thomas was a great listener and an exemplar of a good and decent person throughout his life.
Mr. Bennett enjoyed and pursued many interests; bike-riding, golfing, camping, sailing, civil war re-enactment, ancestry, history, computers, reading, and was a worldwide traveler. He was an avid and faithful Michigan State Football fan.
Thomas was preceded in death by his dear father, Melvin Thomas Bennett. In addition to his mother, survivors include his older sisters, Kathleen Hastings (Michael), Paula Bourget (Daniel), and Anna Bennett. Eight nieces and nephews; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Our Lady of the Lake 1729 Stop 30 Road, Hendersonville, TN 37075 on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Please call or mail in the donation to:
