Thelma H. Allen of Hendersonville, passed away on Wednesday, December 12th at the age of 99. Preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Blanch (Saylor) Pickle, husband Russell Allen, sister Nanny Beth, brothers, John, Hugh, Joseph and George Pickle, grandchildren, Gary and Michael Woods. Survived by her children, Garry Wallace and Carole Wallace, grandchildren, Geneva Coons, Darlene Sams, Daniel Woods, Randy Woods, Mark Wallace, Debi Gaillac and Darlyne Herbert, brothers, Paul Pickle and Fred Pickle. Thelma is also survived by longtime friends Ann Grissom and Virgina Phillips, her Sunday School teacher, Barbara Ward, who often came to visit and Liz Lockhart, along with many extended family and friends.

Thelma was born on June 22, 1919 in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was a longtime member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church. Thelma was a very generous and doting grandmother who was an amazing cook, loved arts and crafts, traveling and Wheel of Fortune. She also loved flowers and playing dominoes with her friends. Thelma was a special lady who will be missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Thursday, December 20th at 2:00PM, officiated by Dr. Bruce Chesser and Pastor Richard Gaia. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:00PM. Thelma will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Thelma's name can be made to the Hendersonville First Baptist Church Backpack Ministry.
