On September 24, 2015 Terri was relieved of her earthly battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord Jesus.
Terri was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School, and went on to graduate from Tennessee Technological University with a degree in Music Education. Though she had a passion for music her entire life, she only taught music in the school system for six years. Terri, did however, maintain a roster of pupils to whom she administered private piano lessons for over thirty years.
She was an active member of The First Baptist Church Hendersonville, where she sang with the adult choir, conducted the children's choir, and led a women's bible study. Terri was a strong Christian woman, and those who knew her will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph R. Russell; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barton, and Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Russell. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 35 years, Bill Gruenewald; son, Will Gruenewald (Jill); mother, Bobbie Russell; brother, Jim Russell (Lori); granddaughter, Alynna Gruenewald; niece, Faith Russell; and nephews, John (Elizabeth) Watts, and David Watts.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Terri to The First Baptist Church Hendersonville, Children's Choir Ministry, 106 Bluegrass Commons Boulevard, Hendersonville, TN 37075. The Gruenewald Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, September 27 from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. and on Monday, September 28 from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. A life celebration will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. All visitation and services will be held in the main sanctuary at The First Baptist Church Hendersonville. Interment will follow on Tuesday, September 29 at 11 a.m. in Brownsville, TN at Oakwood Cemetery. HENDERSONVILLE FUNERAL HOME, 353 E.
