Mr. Ted Wayne Lawrence Age 75 of Hendersonville Tennessee passed away on Wednesday May 29th, 2019.

Ted was born on August the 21st in 1943 in Nashville to Jack William Sr. & Ida Frances Lawrence. He was the second of eight children and assumed the role as an older brother and care taker for his younger siblings. He would take them along on trips to Melrose Bowling Alley and to the theme park to go on all the rides and attractions. At home, he would help his mother take care of the yard work & flowers. As a teenager, he was extremely proud when he made a cedar chest for his Mom, and when they wouldn't let him take it on the bus, he took it home on his back the whole way to get it to her.

When he grew older, he got a job with Genesco as a tow motor operator. After his work hours there, he helped the family business at Lawrence Record Shop on Broadway in Nashville (What is now Nudie's Honky Tonk). He worked there with his family for 42 years, greeting customers and selling records. Ted would sit by the window and watch as people would pass by the shop and stop in.

Ted was a master story teller. All of his tales were larger than life itself and the details were always grand in nature. He had a way with words that could turn any seemingly standard event into a dramatic encounter. Josh Sharp Writes "When growing up small around such a big presence as Ted was. He was always the biggest, the strongest, and the most well-known man around. To be a naive kid watching and listening to him with larger than life tales of all his adventures like his own versions of John Henry driving the steel spikes or Paul Bunyan and Babe."

Ted is survived by his Sister Betty Billingsley; Brother Jack Jr. & (Evelyn) Lawrence; Brother Paul Lawrence; Sister Wanda Proctor; Sister Sherry Lawrence; Sister Pam & (Mike) Sharp; Sister Anita & (Jerry) Wilson.
