Tammy Renee Newby of East Nashville, passed away on Thursday, December 27th at the age of 59. Preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Yant and Rebecca Faye McDowell. Survived by her children, Jessica and Justin Newby, brother Kevin, along with many nieces and nephews who loved her very much.

Tammy was born on August 4, 1959 in Clarksville, Tennessee. She graduated from Stratford High School in east Nashville. She had a strong love for her country and served in the United States Navy as an air traffic controller. She loved the stars, sky and watching meteor showers. Tammy enjoyed spending time with her family at the cold hole. She also enjoyed dancing, watching movies, light houses, hiking and reading. She loved music and her favorite artists were Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers along with many more. Favorite songs included, Bennie and the Jets by Elton John, Billie Jean by Michael Jackson and Hotel California by the Eagles. Her favorite treat was strawberry cheesecake ice cream with graham crackers on the top. She was a smart woman who loved math and was a great writer. Tammy was a fearless, stubborn woman who lived every single day doing exactly what she wanted to. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
