Susan Patey

Susan Hite Patey, 93, passed away at her home in Hendersonville, Tennessee on July 25, 2022. Born in Nashville, Susan grew up in Goodlettsville and graduated from George Peabody Demonstration School. She had an early career in bookkeeping and was a housewife, mother, and an active member of First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville for many years. She loved travel and entertaining; was known for her beautiful needlework; and enjoyed books, antiques, and gardening.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Patey, and daughters Laura Finnin and Jennifer McBride. She is survived by stepdaughters Roberta Willis, Patrecia Zebrowski (John), and Camellia Patey; her sister Patty Hite Criddle (Charles Smith); grandchildren Janie Finnin and Nathan Finnin (Kaitlin); two great grandchildren; and a nephew and many nieces.

The family would like to thank Susan’s caring friends Linda Polston and Peggy Haynes, her kind neighbors, many friends, and all the people at Caris Healthcare Hospice and Home Instead for their love and support.

There will be a celebration of life service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens and Funeral Home at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to All Among Us (107 Carson Road, Ferguson, MO 63135) or a charity of your choice.
