Sue Brown Shaw passed away Friday, February 17th at St. Thomas West in Nashville. She was born August 15, 1944 to the late William S. and Gweneva (Baucom) Brown in Murfreesboro, TN. Sue was raised in Nashville and graduated from Litton High School. Once her children were all in school, she went to college and earned her associates degree in physical therapy from Volunteer State Community College. She used her training as a physical therapy assistant to help children in Sumner County Schools. However, she was most grateful for her training as a physical therapy assistant because she was better able to care for her son Bill after he was injured in a car accident. She devoted her life to Bill's care. She was also very active in the Brain Injury Association of TN following his injury. Sue was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Sue enjoyed reading, gardening, shopping, and was especially fond of spending time with her grandchildren. Sue is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leonard R. Shaw Jr.; her son, William R. Shaw; her daughters, Kathryn Breeding and Rebecca Harrison (Chad Harrison); her grandchildren: Zane Breeding, Anne-Marie Breeding, Carter Breeding, Cainan Harrison and Caiah Harrison; and her beloved dog, Mickey. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 21st from 4-8 pm at Hendersonville Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday at 3 pm with interment at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brain Injury Association of TN www.braininjurytn.org or to Powerfully Positive, Inc. www.powerfullypositive.org www.hendersonvillefh.com
