Steven Smith

Steven William Smith, 68, of Goodlettsville. Passed away on Sunday, March 20th, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family

He was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 2nd 1954 and later settled in Madison, Tennessee with his wife, Cherrie Smith. They were married on September 21, 1984 and were married 37 happy years. Steve called her his angel and their greeting and good-bye was always "I will love you forever" even until the end.

Steve's other great love was music. He joined Studer ReVox in 1982 and was ecstatic to begin his dream job. He eventually went solo and became a notable asset to the music industry in Nashville working with musicians of all genres. He was known as Studer Steve on Music Row and was able to continue his dream job as a music engineer for 45 years before retiring in 2017. Additionally, Steve loved to play music and did so every Saturday night with local friends or when family came to town. He played the guitar, bass, piano, drums, and steel guitar, among many other instruments.

Steven Smith was preceded in death by his father, William H. Smith, and mother, Alice L. Smith.

He is survived by wife, Cherrie Smith. Their daughter, Allyson Rose (Bernard) Lesmeister and grandsons Draven and Cashtian; sisters Rita (Russ) Robinette, Tina (Jim) Moore and Cindy Smith; nieces and nephews, Ben (Katy) Moore, Joseph Moore, Cassy Moore and Rachel (Morrel) Ashworth; and great nieces and nephews, Josiah, Chloe, Mickey, River, Abel, Avery, Noah, Mark, and Adina.

Funeral services will be held at Hendersonville Memorial Gardens on March 26th, 2022 at 7 pm with Ben Moore officiating. Visitation with friends and family will be held prior to services, beginning at 5pm.
