Stephen "Gary" Merrick- age 69, of Nashville, TN passed away October 29, 2016. He was born in Nashville, TN on August 9, 1947 to the late Ray Merrick and Doris Hudson. He was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School in Nashville, TN and The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He later enjoyed becoming a Vanderbilt fan alongside his son. Gary as most people knew him, enjoyed "tinkering" with antique cars and spending time with his son no matter what they were doing. He also had a kind generous heart and always enjoyed giving to various charities. He will forever be remembered as a proud father and grandfather that will be missed deeply.
He is survived by his son, John Merrick (Rebecca); grandson, James Merrick and half-brother, Larry Merrick. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday at 10am with Pastor Josh Wallace officiating, in the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
