Shirley G. Burton, age 72 of White House, TN passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Shirley was born May 15, 1946 in Davidson County, TN, daughter of the late Harris and Olean (Holt) Gilbert. Shirley was very passionate about gardening and floral design. She arranged flowers for over 18 years for Michaels, as well as designing flowers for the sets of nearly all the local news stations. Shirley is survived by her son, Brian Burton; sisters, Maria Medina, Joann Cruz and Margaret Craig; brother, Paul (Sunni) Gilbert; her loving and faithful canine companion, Wendy. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of over 49 years, Roger Burton, Jr. She was also preceded by a son, Lee Burton and brothers, Harlan and William Gilbert. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 7th from 4-8pm at the Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St; Hendersonville, TN 37075) where a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 10am. Interment will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
