Mrs. Sara Jean Hallett age 92, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018.
Mrs. Hallett was born in Saegertown, PA, on April 24, 1926, the daughter of the late Herman Moran and Gladys Fowler Moran. She spent most of her married life in Conneaut, OH, before moving to Hendersonville, TN. Mrs. Hallett graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in Cambridge, PA where she played the violin in the orchestra, involved in chorus, and played on the basketball team. She was a devout Christian and served as choir director, Sunday school teacher, and past president of Women's Missionary Fellowships. She loved music, sewing, cooking, and baking for others. Mrs. Hallett was very giving and had an open heart toward everyone. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hallett was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hallett; a grandson, Jonathan Davenport; a brother, Carl Moran; and two sisters, Nina Warner and Doris Tucker.
Survivors include her daughter, Jan (Michael) Davenport; four grandchildren, Rebecca Davenport, Rachel (Shaun) Jasper, Joshua (Natalie) Davenport, and Hannah (Chris) Forte; and eight great-grandchildren, Elijah Jasper, Isaiah Jasper, Zoe Jasper, Benjamin Davenport, Christian McKinnon, Naomi Forte, Tabitha Forte, and Simon Forte. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 23, 2018, at 2:00 P.M., Hendersonville Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Davenport officiating. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Friday from noon until the funeral hour at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
