Samuel (Sam) J. Sarrett passed from this life to the presence of Christ on Monday evening, January 4, 2021. He was born on September 28, 1929 in Bluff City, Arkansas to Samuel Jasper Sarrett, Sr. and Mollie Etta Barksdale Sarrett. He was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Lawana Sarrett, and his three sons Steve (wife, Cathy), Mike (wife, Julie), and Doug (wife, Eve) along with 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Sam served in the Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery in battle. Upon returning home from the war, he began working with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and retired from Goodyear in 1974 to enter private business.
