Ruth LaVerne Kirby

Ruth LaVerne Kirby, age 80, of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on March 29, 2024. She was born on July 14, 1943 to the late Jamerson and Ruth Williams.

Renowned for her delectable chocolate pies that brought smiles to many faces, LaVerne had a passion for cooking that always shone through in her kitchen. Her family and friends were blessed to have experienced the love she poured into every dish she prepared.

In addition to her talent in the kitchen, LaVerne found great joy in simple pleasures such as knitting and crocheting. She also loved flowers and watching birds. 

LaVerne loved her family and her church family. She especially enjoyed attending her Sunday School Class at Metro Baptist. 

In addition to her parents, LaVerne is preceded in death by her siblings, Douglas Williams, Brenda Haddock, and Linda Clouse. 

LaVerne is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Charles Kirby; her children, Lynn Kirby, Terry Kirby (Mebra), Tina Steele (Michael), and Cari Kirby (Jeff Ivey); and her grandchildren, April Kirby, Josh Kirby (Alex), Jenna Steele, Jacob Steele, Marley Kirby, and Jax Ivey.

Services for Mrs. LaVerne Kirby will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center (353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, Tennessee, 37075). Visitation will take place on April 2, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service for LaVerne will be held on April 2, 2024 at 12:00 pm. The burial will immediately follow the service.
