Ruby Alice Fuqua, 68, of Hendersonville, passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. Preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Edith McCallick. Survived by her husband, Robert, children; Charity (Michael) Eden and Sabrina Leonard, grandchildren; Lee (Jacie) Fryar, Madison (Daniel) McIntosh, Ewing Eden, Brett Leonard and Dayton Leonard, siblings; Kay (J.R.) Hall, Eddie McCallick, Tommy McCallick, Donnie McCallick and Joralena McCallick, along with many extended family and friends.
Ruby was born on August 1, 1951 in Clinton, Oklahoma to the late Thomas Lauvelle and Edith Nell McCallick. Ruby retired from United Parcel Service (UPS) where she worked as a data entry technician. She was a God fearing woman who attended church regularly. Her family and friends were very important to her and she enjoyed the times she was able to spend with them. Ruby's hobbies included crocheting, cooking, and baking, known to her family as "the world's best baker". She loved to travel, favorite destinations being her home state of Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas and Tennessee. Her love of family and gatherings led her to be passionate about capturing her life through photographs. Ruby was known for her tradition of making Christmas candies and sharing them with her family. Ruby was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who was very proud of her family and will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life service for Ruby will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 353 East Main Street, on Monday, June 8th at 1:00 PM, Pastor Chris Johnson presiding.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 7th from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, and on Monday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Hendersonville Memory Garden in the Garden of Cross.
