Roy King, Jr.

Roy “R.T.” King, Jr., age 83, of Hermitage passed away on January 23, 2024. R.T. was born on February 9, 1940 in Frankfort, Kentucky to the late Roy King, Sr. and Martha Willis King.

R.T. was a very faithful family man and would do anything for his family. He loved people and was very selfless in his nature. He was a hard worker and very generous. R.T. worked at Dupont in Old Hickory for 35 years as an operator, then at an auto auction for 10 years, and then at Life Care in Old Hickory for another 10 years, and was still there when he got sick. He loved working and being around people.

R.T. loved golf. R.T. was an avid golfer and played everywhere for many years. He also enjoyed watching the Price is Right! 

R.T. was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.

R.T. is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara King; his children, Michele King, Kim King Martin (Evans), and Roger King; his grandchildren, Courtney Moulder (Josh), Kerri Painton (Stephen), Kevin Martin, and Rhett King; his great grandchildren, Raleigh Painton, Evelyn Painton, Owen Painton, Liam Painton, Jasper Moulder, and Joel Moulder; his sister, Faye Kirby (Allen); and nephew, Wyatt Kirby.

Visitation for R.T. will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St. Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075). Funeral services for R.T. will be held immediately following visitation at 2:00 pm.
