Ronald Edward Knight was born April 1, 1946 (not an April Fool's day joke). He died suddenly from cardiac arrest while working on September 26, 2014 at the age of 68. Ron was yankee born and spent the majority of his life in Plainfield, CT. Late in life he turned southerner when he and his wife Betty Knight moved to Hendersonville, TN, just northeast of the Music City.
Ron drove truck for 40 plus and loved being on the road, at work or off. Family fun trips were 6+ hours...one way! He tried retiring but the road called him back one more time.
He loved to talk, to friends, family, and anyone else that would listen. He was always cracking jokes and telling a tale or two... or three. Ron posessed a great pragmatism, and that made him easy to be around.
Ron loved spending time with family and friends. Come up with an idea and he was there. Always willing to offer a helping hand or advice. The last eight month were spent making his twin grandaughters laugh and playing keep away with his glasses.
Ron is survived by his wife of 40 years Betty, his son Bill Knight of Moosup,Ct his daughters Brenda Spurling husband Alan of Wauregan,Ct and Tammy Truman husband Toby of Hendersonville, Tn. Five Grandchildren Michelle Lalumaire, Jennifer Knight, Robert Knight, Dagny Truman and Liberty Truman. Plus three great grandchildren, Avah, Emmalee Johnson, Jye Johnson, and Noah Knight. And his dog Wally.
May this final leg of road not be under constrution but a straight shot to heaven!
