Robert R. "Bob" Webb accepted Jesus to be the Lord of his life at the tender age of six. The foundation of his faith was built upon that childhood prayer. He was the fifth of ten children born to Pearl and Joseph Webb. Each of his parents were ordained ministers. His Daddy was a sharecropper who pastored small churches across East Texas. After high school Robert attended Southwestern Bible College where he studied Missions and Theology. By the 1950's he was a traveling evangelist and became the pastor of a small home missions church. A tobacco field outside of Bowling Green Kentucky became his "prayer closet" and in this field he cultivated the prayer life that sustained him for more than sixty years of ministry. It was in that field where he was called to be a missionary in Africa.
In 1954 he married his wife, Dorothy J. "Dot" Webb and they celebrated sixty-one years of marriage. They lived a life of joyful adventure as the ministered together in the US, Liberia and Nigeria West Africa where they spent thirty-seven years. After retirement Robert travelled to Russia, Georgia and the Ukraine where he taught in satellite seminary schools for Pastors. His passion for more than sixty years was the gospel of Jesus Christ he never stopped believing it was good news. Until the very end he desired to please his heavenly father above all else.
He is predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Dot Webb. He is survived by son Dan (Teri) Webb, and daughter Tammy (Wolter) Witholt and grandson Ben Webb. He was one of ten siblings, born in Elmwood, Texas on August 28, 1929; he is survived by four siblings Jack, Jerry, Cecil and Betty. He was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God for over sixty years. For forty years he and his wife were missionaries in Nigeria, West Africa and retired in 1997. His passion to the very end was his lord and savior and the souls of mankind. Visitation will be from 4:30pm - 7:00pm Friday, November 27th with the funeral to follow at 7:00pm. A graveside service will be 10:00am, Saturday, November 28th at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers the wish of Rev.
