Robert L. Taylor of Gallatin, TN passed at home on Monday, April 9, 2018 surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. Bob was born July 8, 1947 in Nashville, TN to the late M.C. and Robbie L. (Bellenfant) Taylor. Bob was persistent in his ways, however that same persistence and conviction in his beliefs made him one of the most unique and genuine people you've ever met. He was incredibly generous a great friend to many and who loved his family and closest friends with all his heart. He was a loving Dad, Grandad, Brother and Husband. Bob loved going to the beach and on family vacations, although he may have griped along the way, he thoroughly enjoyed the time. He also liked ghost hunting and Nascar, and enjoyed going shooting with his friends and family. His sense of humor would leave anyone with a huge smile on their face. Even in the darkest moments he would bring light to the room. He was constantly starting new projects or improving something already made! Bob is survived by his loving and faithful fiancé, Lynn Smith; daughters, Dawn (Kurt) Matthews and Cheri (Cliff Allen) Darks; grandchildren, Kelcie, Brittany and Tanner; siblings, Dot Oats, Marvin Taylor and Jimmy Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Gloria Taylor and a sister, Louise Sparks. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 13 from 11a-1p at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St; Hendersonville, TN 37075) where a celebration of life will follow at 1pm. Interment will follow the service at Spring Hill Cemetery.
