Robert S. "Bobby" Stone

Robert “Bobby” Stanley Stone was born on Father’s Day June 19, 1949, in Caruthersville, Missouri. He was the son of E.R. “Doc” Stone and Rose Mary (Clark) Stone. He departed life in Gallatin, Tennessee on July 24, 2024, he was 75 years old.

Bobby graduated from Caruthersville High School in May 1968. He volunteered for the draft into the United States Army on August 7, 1968, and proudly served our country. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his service during the Vietnam War. Bobby was united in marriage to Trudy Mai Kane on November 25, 1970, in Nashville, Tennessee. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2016.

Bobby loved sports, watching the Titans with his brother-in-law Wayne Kane, especially when the Titans went to Super Bowl XXXIV. He also was a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Vanderbilt, and the Preds. In addition to sports, Bobby loved music and had an extensive collection of old radios he lovingly restored. 

Bobby was a wonderful husband, Daddy, and the very best Pawpaw.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, daughter April Stone Huffines, brothers Clark Stone and Ralph Stone and his sister Linda Faye Stone. He is survived by his loving wife Trudy Stone, daughter Amy Stone (Ray) Behel, four grandsons Devin and Carter Huffines, Carson, and Curtis (Lauryn) Palmer, sister Janice Stone (Rocky) Dunavant, son in law Kevin Huffines, and sister-in-law Barbara Stone. In addition, he is survived by his beloved cat Miss Beasley and host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons Devin, Carter, Carson, and Curtis.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 11am-2pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2pm in the Chapel at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
