Robert Franklin Crocker, age 85 of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2016. He was born at home in Cheatham Co. to Richard & Suzanna Bateman Crocker on October 6, 1931, in the heart of the depression.
Robert attended Cheatham Co. High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1950 and served multiple tours in Korea. He was wounded 3 times including a yearlong plus stay to recoup in Tokyo Army Hospital. He was awarded a Purple Heart w/ oak leaf cluster and the Korean Service Medal. Robert was Honorably Discharged.
Robert married his first wife, Peggy Sealy, on New Year's Eve, 1953. He retired from Kroger Company after 43 years in management. Robert married Barbara Parsons in June, 1973. Robert was a member of Hendersonville Pentecostal Church.
Preceded in death by his parents; Richard M. Crocker and Suzanna Crocker, brother, Ray Crocker and daughter, Kathy Crocker Greer.
Survived by his wife, Barbara Crocker of Hendersonville, TN, daughter, Cheryl Crocker of Cumming, GA, sister, Barbara Porter of Chapmansboro, TN, niece, Melissa DuRard of Chapmansboro, TN, grandchildren; Richard Greer of Portland, TN, Kimberly Beasley of Columbia, TN, great-grandchildren; Taylor Beasley, Randy Beasley Jr., Austin Chambers and Dylan Chambers.
A Life Celebration for Robert will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home at 12:00PM on Monday, December 5, 2016, Pastor Roger Thaxton officiating. Interment to follow with Military Honors at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will include family and friends.
