Robert Beebe was born in San Francisco August 13, 1945 to George and Billie Beebe. The family moved to Menlo Park when he was a young child, and the family resided there for many years. Robert graduated from Menlo Park High School.
Robert attended San Jose State. He earned a bachelors degree, two masters degrees, and a teaching certificate. Robert joined the Navy upon graduation and was stationed in Washington D.C. working in Naval Intelligence.
When his commitment was completed, he returned to San Jose and accepted a position in the Campbell Union High School District.
Robert was a talented and enthusiastic teacher. He loved mentoring young people and especially enjoyed his years teaching government.
Upon retirement he and his wife, Joni, moved to Nashville, Tennessee to be closer to their two daughters. He loved the heat and humidity of this new climate. The house they bought on Old Hickory Lake brought him special pleasure as he was a lifelong lover of water. He continued to swim daily.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Joni, his two daughters, Karin and Lindsay, his beloved granddaughter, Isla, his two sons-in-law, Virgil and Dusty, his sister Chris and her husband Ron, and his nieces, Lori and Carrie. All of whom feel his absence keenly. The many hundreds of students who participated in his classes deserve a mention. They occupied a special place in his heart.
He was a man of intelligence and wit, strength and compassion. He will be terribly missed.
Robert left this life September 1, 2024.
May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
