Robert Doyle "Paw Paw" Adkins
Age 82 of Hendersonville, TN passed away on the evening of September 26, 2015.
Robert joined the U.S. Marines when he was seventeen years old and was proud to serve his country. After retiring from Pirelli he was able to focus on his passion, farming. He enjoyed being outdoors. Robert leaves behind a legacy as an excellent cook, he was best known for his fried corn, prime rib, grilled turkey, and his made-from-scratch coconut cake. His legacy as a cook will live on since he taught his children to cook. Aside from cooking, he was an avid reader and a storyteller at family gatherings. The beach was Robert's favorite place to visit, in fact, he went almost every year. He will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Adkins; and his brothers and sisters.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Melanie Adkins (Larry), Mitzi Ayers (Darrell); son, Robert Adkins (Tina); grandchildren, Jason White (Tennelle), Heather Ramos (Justin), Rachel Adkins, Ashley Adkins, Samuel Ayers; great-grandchildren, Olivia White, Brody White, Parker Ramos, and Oona Adkins.
