Richard Jones

Richard C. Jones, age 69 of Flat Rock, Michigan passed away suddenly July 17, 2015 in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Richard was born on July 21, 1945 in Monroe, Michigan to the late Charlie and Elmira Jones. Richard was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was a lifelong resident of Flat Rock, Michigan where he served on the City Council for eight years and served as Mayor for 25 years. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Ferris State University and his Master's Degree from Walsh College. He will be remembered as a good man; a great leader who loved his community and always fought for what he believed in. In addition to serving his community, Richard was a Certified Public Accountant who owned and operated his accounting firm, R.C. Jones & Co. for the past 36 years. Anyone who knew Richard knew that he was an avid University of Michigan football fan, Go Blue! He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Neletta Jones; children, Kimberly Jones, Clarissa Bailey (Tim) and Jeremiah Jones (Nikki); grandchildren, Maguire Bailey, Macauley Bailey, Genevieve Jones, Dallas Jones and Vivienne Jones; and brother, Chester Jones (Cathy). His family will receive friends on Monday, July 20th from 12:30-2 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held in Michigan at a later date.
