Richard Joseph "Rick" Hehnen, 72, of Hendersonville, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Preceded in death by his parents; George Albert Hehnen and Anne Estelle Weinman, siblings; Thomas Hehnen, Gary Hehnen and Joanne Wells. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Ann Hehnen, children; Michael Wade Hehnen, Stacey Ruth Wakefield (Howard), sister, Lisa Anne Wright, grandchildren; Becca Kaylor, Brandon Kaylor and Mikayla Wakefield. Rick is also survived by his Dachshund, "Max", along with many extended family and friends.

Rick was born on December 12, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from Father Ryan High School and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. in business. Rick was a United States Army and Vietnam veteran. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 240 in Hendersonville and Disabled American Veterans.

Rick had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed watching movies, especially superhero movies. He was an avid NASCAR fan, his favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt Sr. He liked to travel with favorite destinations that included Cape May, New Jersey, Panama City, Dauphin Island and whitewater rafting in Nantahala, North Carolina. He enjoyed listening to all types of music, especially classic rock. Rick found true happiness spending time with his family. Whether it was gathering in the dining room for Thanksgiving and other holiday gatherings or relaxing on the patio grilling, surrounded by family and friends. Rick was an honest, rational and logical thinking man who also had a sense of humor. He was a loving and responsible husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20th from 12:00PM - 4:00PM, with Military Honors at 4PM.
