Rhett Davis Brunes was born on June 27th, 2023 to parents Auston and Hanna Brunes. He then spent 32 days at Ascension St. Thomas Midtown in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where he was cared for 24/7 by many amazing nurses and doctors. He was also read countless books, sung to for many hours, and prayed over until he passed from his mommy's arms into the arms of Jesus. During Rhett's short time on Earth, he touched the lives of many and was and still is a testament to the miracle-working power of Jesus Christ. He was a fighter and lived well past the expectations of doctors, but we know this was all due to the healing power of God. As baby Rhett took his last breaths surrounded by his family, it began to thunder we decided then that was the earthly sound of the heavenly welcome party for Rhett's arrival.
He was greeted in Heaven by Nanny, Grandaddy Hanna, Granny, Grandaddy Irwin, Paw Paw, Grandpa Fox and Grandma Brunes and Grandpa Brunes.
He is survived and deeply loved by his mommy and daddy, big brother Rohen, his grandparents, his great-grandparents, his aunts and uncles, his cousins, and many others. Thank you Jesus for our superhero, we love you, Rhett.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
