Rachel Watson Greer, age 90, of Hendersonville, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Watson, second husband, Clint Greer, special friend, Marion Pilkinton, parents; Guy and Mary Eubanks, siblings; Eugene Eubanks, Edward Eubanks, Guy Eubanks, Ada Williams and Evelyn Book. Survived by her children; Tom Watson (Jacqueline) and Starr Griffy (Tony), grandchildren; Drew Watson, Susannah Carney (Greg), Thomas Jason Griffy (Lara), Dusty Shandy (Thomas), great-grandchildren; Avery Carney and Cooper Carney, Tyler Mae and Dylan Grace Shandy, Ellie and Cash Griffy, Connor, Max and Fiona Watson, siblings; Elizabeth Winfrey and Virgil Eubanks (Lucille), along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends.
Ms. Rachel was born on January 28, 1930, in Trenton, North Carolina to the late Guy and Mary Eubanks. She was a longtime member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church. She was a member of Jere Baxter Chapter 343 Order of the Eastern Star, Grand Representative to Nevada, served as Worthy Grand Matron in Tennessee from 1976-1977, served in the General Grand Chapter as Chairman of Our World of Youth, and served as Worthy Grand Marshal in the International Order of the Eastern Star.
Ms. Rachel never met a stranger or anyone she didn't love. She was a strong, elegant, Southern woman who will be missed by her family and by all who knew her.
A celebration of life service for Ms. Rachel will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street, on Monday, August 3rd at 1:00 PM, presided by Pastor Bruce Chesser and Pastor Jeff Lake. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 2nd from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM and again on Monday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
