Pualehua Victoria Keli'iholokai Primm, daughter of Benjamin and Mary Keli'iholokai. She was born on May 29, 1933 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She grew up in Kaimuki on 11th Avenue. At the age of 16 when her father passed she went to live with her sister in Laie. Pualehua graduated from Castle High School in Kaneohe. Three years later she married a Navy Sailor, David Primm from Tennesse and a year later moved away to the mainland.
For many years Pualehua had a longing to return home to Hawaii, her birthplace, and to her beloved ohana. It wasn't until after the passing of the "love of her life" in 2013 that she finally returned to Hawaii. Although so many things have changed the past 59 years in Hawaii and many ohana have since gone her last visit to home. She was happy and enjoyed her time spent with her sister Healani (her only living sibling) these past 6 years being home in Hawaii. Although she was happy to be home, she did miss and longed to spend time with her other children, grandchildren on the mainland & her home of Tennessee for 59 years. She frequently went back and forth her homeland of Hawaii and Tennessee.
Pualehua "Tutu Pua" was a caring and gentle spirit who always had a beautiful smile with a "Bright Twinkle" in her eyes and always made us laugh with her witty sense of humor. She was a strong soul, a fighter, loved her family and loved our Heavenly Father with all her heart.
Tutu Pua passed away peacefully on September 24, 2019 at Ka Punawai Ola in Kapolei, Hawaii. She is survived by son, Dennis Lee Kalehuakea Primm, and daughters, Healani Ligon, Jewel Kuulei McLerran and Fay Leialohaakalehua Gann; seven grandchildren, Pualehua Collins, Keli'iholokai Johnson, Benjamin McLerran, Kalani Johnson, Tiffany LeShea Gann, Austin Steele Primm, and Kamakalikolehua Ligon; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; and her only surviving sibling of seven a sister, Healani Akana.
