Phyllis Eileen Ross - Age 91 of Gallatin, TN passed away August 9, 2014.
When describing Ms. Ross, a small modest 3 bedroom house on Tuxedo Street in Indianapolis, with hot cooked meals & laundry hanging all over the kitchen to dry comes to her families mind. Ms Ross was a wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, Christian, Volunteer and friend. She was a loving woman with good morals; who gave her children hugs when they needed it and spankings when they deserved it. Teaching them to respect both of their parents for everything they taught them. She enjoyed gardening in the summer time, going to Florida in the winter time, and making quilts with her church in Plymouth, IN when she wasn't in Florida. She loved playing cards, such as Bridge and penny-ante poker. She traveled with Harry to Bermuda, Spain, Hawaii & Jamaica, as well as reading books about the civil war and history. She was a die-hard Democrat, who loved the Kennedys. Some of her favorite places to travel to were Florida; Lake Michigan Beaches; & the Blueberry Festivals in Plymouth, IN. There were many family traditions, but she will always be remembered for her famous "Albino Turkeys" at Thanksgiving & always making Harry a Lemon Meringue Pie when she lost a bet with him. She loved ice cream and beer, together she would always say.
Proceeded in death by her husband of 66 years, Harry LeRoy Ross; son Robert LeRoy Ross; and Sister Beverly Hayden. Survived by her children, Michael P Ross (Penny) & Glenn C. Ross of Las Vegas; sister, Barbara Beauleaux; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren several extended family members and friends.
