Phillip Brooks McMahan was called home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and William "Jack" McMahan. Survived by his wife, Beverly, of thirty years. Survived by daughters, Karen (Chuck) Buckner and Angela (Nat) Showalter. Also survived by stepchildren, Kevin (Cathy) McFadden, Sara (Bob) Starnes, Kelly (Rick) Geiler, Scott (Kimberly) McFadden, Stuart (Jean) McFadden and Karrie McFadden as well as sixteen grandchildren; Stephen Buckner, Laura Buckner, Allie Showalter Robinson, Nathan Showalter, Luke and Patrick McFadden, Brock, Trevor and Caleb Starnes, Madisen, Mallory and Margaret Geiler, Elise, Tucker and Arden McFadden and Cali McFadden.
Phil (1934-2015) was born and raised in North Carolina and graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Husbandry. Upon graduation, moved to Tennessee and started a family. He worked as a pharmaceutical salesman and later as an assistant Vice President at Commerce Union Bank (Nashville). Later on, he moved to Destin, FL and owned and operated PB Books bookstore. He retired and moved back to Tennessee in 2005. He enjoyed life and sharing "life lessons" and Christ's love with all he came in contact. His greatest treasures were his family.
Visitation will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home (April 25, 2015) at 11:00 -2:00 with funeral services following at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Thomas West Hospital Foundation; details at www.stthomas.ejoinme.org.
