Peggy Huffines
July 17, 1947 — March 29, 2017
Peggy Huffines, 69, of Hendersonville passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017. Peggy was born in Hartsville, Tennessee the daughter of the late Earl Brown and Matilda (Lynville) Story. She graduated from Trousdale County High School and later received dental training. She worked for Dr. Cordell Chaffin for 32 years, retiring in August of last year. Her caring and giving nature was known not only to her family but also to those she saw at work. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was known as "Nanny" to her grandchildren. Peggy derived her greatest joy from her family and the time spent with them. Her other interests included sewing, needlework and caring for her plants.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Don B. Huffines; her son, Jim Cunningham, his wife Stephanie, their son Mike and his wife CJ and their children, Alivia and Maddox; her daughter Renae Carnahan and her husband Robert, their children, Taylor Carnahan and fiancé Paul Corsaro and son Chase Carnahan; her step-daughter, Kim McLean and her husband Kerry and their children Race and Raven; her step-daughter, Julia Stidham and her husband Jody; her brothers, Horace Story and Ray Story and his wife Nova; and her sister, Sue Story.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Doris Mitschele of Sherman, Texas, Douglas Story and Beatrice Story.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and Monday from 9:00 am with services beginning at 10:00 am at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Green Grove Cemetery, Hartsville, Tennessee.
