Peggy Foyster was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother. She was married to her husband and best friend, Ray for 56 years and lovingly cared for her two boys, Michael and Brian. She regularly babysat for her grandson Dylan and looked forward to having dinner on Sundays with her husband, son Brian, daughter-in-law Traci and her grandson Dylan.
When she wasn't with her family, Peggy loved knitting baby blankets, "Sewing for the Nations" with her First Baptist Hendersonville friends, cooking, baking and reading.
Peggy wanted people to know how happy her life as a mother, wife and grandmother made her feel. She described being totally fulfilled by her relationships with her family and said her career came second. Another source of great fulfillment was working with the special kids on Sundays. Peggy's grandson Dylan was born 14 weeks premature. Subsequently, Dylan has special needs and is profoundly deaf. Dylan inspired Peggy to learn sign language, and both she and Ray, to volunteer their time with the special kids class at church. Peggy felt that although each child faces their own unique challenges, each child has their own special qualities, which she admired. Despite their individual challenges, she felt you could just look into their eyes and see the empathy and love they have to share. She loved those kids with all her heart and soul.
