Mrs. Peggy Jean Pigg Alexander age 70, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019.

Mrs. Alexander was born in Sheffield, AL, on November 24, 1948, the daughter of the late Norman Pigg and Ruth Jane Roberts Pigg. She retired from Castner Knott Company after thirty years of service. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church for thirty-two years where she sung in the choir. She loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Alexander was an avid reader and enjoyed feeding the birds and baking cookies. She will be remembered most for her generosity and humble spirit.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur "Art" Alexander, Jr., to whom she was married on June 14, 1968; a son, William "Bill" Alexander (Roseann); two daughters, Emily Fisher (Kevin) and Kimberly Herndon (Jeff); eight grandchildren, Shelby Alexander, Lou Alexander, Alex Fisher (Breah), Taylor Herndon, Sam Fisher, Zac Fisher, Max Herndon, and Ryan Herndon; two sisters, Linda Wilkes (Jerry) and Norma Underhill (Ricky); and two brothers, Richie Pigg (Tammy) and Clint Pigg. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 11:00 A.M., Hendersonville First Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating. Interment will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Hendersonville Funeral Home and Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at Hendersonville First Baptist Church.

The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Beech High School Foundation Thanksgiving Meal Program 3126 Long Hollow Pike Hendersonville, TN 37075.
