Paul Wayne Horton, age 51 of Goodlettsville, passed away on November 16, 2014.
There are many ways to describe Mr. Horton, but the words that come to mind are humble hearted, giving, and selfless just to name a few. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, son and friend to so many, he never met a stranger and genuinely wanted to give to anyone and everyone he could. He spent 28 years with Nissan as a body technician, when he wasn't at work he was enjoying UT Football. Traveling, seeing the fall trees, driving through the mountains and watching the snow fall were just a few of the many joys in Mr. Horton's life other than his wonderful family. On Sunday morning you could find Mr. Horton at Grace Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a faithful and devoted member since 1975. He loved gospel music and leading the music at his church. Not a day went by without him laughing and bringing joy to everyone's life that was around him. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
Mr. Horton is preceded in death by his loving mother Ola Ann Horton and sister Patricia Miles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Cindy Horton; sons Timothy Horton and Jonathon Horton; father, James L. Horton; sisters, Dorothy (Mark) Crabtree, Linda (Granville) Chapman, Reba (Bruce) Nagel and Nancy (Willie) Vaughn; brothers, Billy (Sandra) Horton, Louis E. Horton, and Mark (Regina) Horton; father and mother in law, Jerry and Betty Crabtree; 17 nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 1pm, Wednesday, November 19th, at Grace Missionary Baptist Church with Mr. Horton's nephews serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, November 18th, from 1pm until 8pm, then again on Wednesday from 11 until the time of service. Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
Arrangements entrusted to Hendersonville Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 615-824-3855.
