Paul Russell Horton, age 73 of Hendersonville, passed away at his home on Friday, April 20, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Ethel Horton, and sisters, Virginia and Evelyn. Survived by his wife Judy of 52 years, children, Daylynn, Hollie, Purnell (Gina), Troy (Renee), Natalie (Jeremy) and Nicholas, grandchildren, Amber, Michael, Allison, Taylor, Nicole, Katie, Emma, Addison, Carder, Ivy, Topanga, Paris and Isaac, along with 8 great-grandchildren, siblings, Jim, Mike, Tom, Donnie, Steve, Greg, Bill, Betty, Teresa, Danny and Pat. Paul is also survived by many extended family and friends.
Paul was born on July 29, 1944 in Algona, Iowa. In 1987, Paul and Judy moved to Tennessee where he took a construction job to provide for his family. He was a faithfully, devoted family man who was supportive and encouraging of all his families endeavors. Paul was raised Catholic and very proud and devoted to his faith. He enjoyed woodworking, and many of his projects are still used in the Horton household. Paul loved playing all types of games with his family, including Yahtzee with Judy, kickball with his children and grandchildren among many others. Paul had many jobs throughout his life. He retired from Insteel in Gallatin, TN and also owned his own landscape company. Paul will be dearly missed by his family and by all that knew him.
A Life Celebration service for Paul will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11:00AM, officiated by Chaplain Ed Colf, followed by burial in the Garden of Prayer at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday, April 23rd from 4:00PM-8:00PM.
Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
