Mrs. Pamela Denise Martin age 59, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at home surrounded by family after a courageous Forrest Gump Run from cancer for 27 years.

Pam was born in Nashville, TN, on March 25, 1958, the daughter of Sara Sanford Owen and the late Grover Johnson. She attended Hillsboro High School for three years and graduated from Hendersonville High School in 1976. Pam was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville. She worked for Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center as a Lab Manager "Lab Mom" (to students) in cancer biology were she was a recipient of the 2007 Commodore Award. Prior worked five years with Gilda's Club Middle TN. Also, she was involved with Middle TN Camp Bluebird, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure were she was recipient of the 2017 Survivor of Year Award. Pam was the recipient of the 2014 Nancy Saturn Award of Inspiration. She enjoyed family, cooking especially her bunny cake, traveling, dancing, motorcycle riding, beaches, and looking at the sunset. Pam will be remembered for living life to the fullest and loving and helping everyone. Pam's motto was "Keep Showing Up."

Survivors include her mother, Sara Owen; husband of thirty-nine years, David A. Martin; a daughter, Sara L. Martin; a son, Joseph D. Martin; a granddaughter, Kara Denise Faye Martin and her mother, Leah Martin; three siblings, Wayne Johnson (Carol), Michael Johnson (Linda), and Kaye Shaw (Michael); and two aunts, Margaret Thompson and Carolyn Simmons. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018, at noon, First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville. A Celebration Party will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Gilda's Club Nashville. Pam requested to wear your Cancer Sucks Shirt and some shirts will be available at the door of Gilda's Club. A private interment will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 23, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville.
