Opal A. Jones, 95 went to the Lord on January 15, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Homer Jones. She is survived by her daughter Jill Hutcherson (Russ); son Jack Jones; three grandsons, Jason Hutcherson (Kim), Kevin Hutcherson (Kristina) and Andrew Jones; two great-grandsons, Matthew Hutcherson and Joshua Hutcherson; and her very special friend, Myrna Fields. Born in East Nashville she attended Lockland Elementary School and graduated from East High. She and her husband lived in Inglewood until moving to Hendersonville in 1987. She retired from Bell South where she had worked for several years. Opal had been a member of Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church for over 70 years and attended First Baptist Church since moving to Hendersonville. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 18th from 10 am until 12 noon at the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville with a Life Celebration service to follow in the church's chapel at noon. Interment will be at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Pallbearers for the service will be Jason Hutcherson, Kevin Hutcherson, Andrew Jones, Mike Patrick, Tom Wilburn and Mike Ward. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church or to the First Baptist Church, Hendersonville.
