Olive K. Oliver, 92, of Hendersonville and formerly of Hilton Head, SC, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Hendersonville Hospital. Born in Worcester, MA, Sept. 7, 1924, Olive was the daughter of the late Cecil Morris Hill and Edith F. (Andrews) Hill. Olive and her late husband, Edward F. Oliver, lived in Concord, MA for many years prior to retiring to Hilton Head, SC. While in MA , Olive worked as a dental assistant . Olive retained a strong sense of patriotism throughout her life. She and her husband enjoyed their many trips and became "world travelers" during their 68 years of marriage. During her retirement in Hilton Head, Olive was very active in the Hilton Head Plantation Farmer's Club and the Yacht Club. An avid quilter she was also a member of the quilting club. She remained involved in the activities at the Hearth following her move to TN. For Olive, family remained the most important aspect of her life. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Oliver and Fran Sargent; her grandchildren who affectionately called her "Oma", Valerie (Richard) Dexter, Francine (Chris)Oliver-Kochuda, Kristen Sargent, and Kristoffer (Robin) Sargent; and her great-grandchildren, Peyton, Reed, Rachel, Oliver, Gabe, Mac and Soren. In addition to her husband, Edward, Olive was also predeceased by a brother Morton C. Hill. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the National Cemetery at Beaufort, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
