Norma Jean Marlin-age 81 of Hendersonville passed away on September 22, 2014.
Mrs. Marlin is preceded in death by her parents Malcolm and Maybelle Holcomb Page. She is survived by her loving husband Eddie Marlin of 65 years; daughters, Deborah (Jerry W.) Jarrett and Dianne (Randy) West; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tate) Mathews, Tammy (Chris) Sutton, and Jason (Lindi) Jarrett and 8 great-grandchildren.
Norma and Eddie know true love and through their devotion to each other, they have been the ideal example to all of us. Over 43 years ago, I asked Norma if I could have her blessing to marry her daughter. Norma replied, "If you have true love in your heart, you don't need anybody's blessing." Norma Marlin knew what true love in your heart really is. She and Eddie shared 65 years of true love.
Everyone who loved Norma sometime questioned why Norma had to suffer so much for so long, and we may never know the answer. What we do know is that the example they gave us of true love is more than riches or gold or millions in inheritance.
Norma was many good things during her life. She was a devoted wife. She loved her two daughters and was always there for them. She loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. If a person's life can leave a legacy, Norma's legacy will be love. "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three, but the greatest of these is love."
